Students Taking Academic Responsibility
A STAR Folder is a special folder you will take home and return to school every day.
The STAR Folder will help you become organized and it will provide important information for your parents.
STAR Folder Rules:
1. Do not eat or drink in front of your STAR.
2. Do not write in or on your STAR.
3. Do not let anyone borrow your STAR.
4. You are responsible for your STAR. Bring it with you every day and take it home each night.
5. Share your STAR with your parents every night!
6. Be gentle with your STAR and take care of it! We each get one STAR to last us all of 3rd grade!
7. Don't add anything to your STAR that doesn't belong there!

Inside Front Pocket: School Announcements

In the front pocket of the binder you will find important school papers that need to be returned to school. Please remove and read all of these papers promptly and return them to school.

1st Sheet Protector: STAR Rules
|
Guidelines students have been asked to follow in order to preserve their STAR Folder for the entire school year.

2nd Sheet Protector: STAR Homework
|
In this sleeve you will find the details that outline what STAR Homework is all about. On the backside will be the STAR Homework bookmark for the week.

3rd Sheet Protector: Reading Fluency
|
This game is designed to help students gain proficiency in sight word fluency. It is part of the STAR Homework and is also reinforced in class.

4th Sheet Protector: 50 Book Challenge
|
On this recording sheet, students will keep track of their progress toward the 30 book goal for the year. On the backside is a wishlist of books they are interested in reading in the future.

5th Sheet Protector: Monthly Breakfast/Lunch Calendar
|
Please leave the current month's calendar in the STAR Folder. We will place upcoming calendars on the backside as soon as they are available.

Last Sheet Protector: Daily Schedule & Class List
|
In this sleeve you will find our daily schedule and a class roster with the names of all students in the classroom. You may use this list for birthday celebrations, holidays, etc.
